SCE SML clarification

There is some confusion about SCE SML with EBS. The following (or something very similar) will be up on the official web sites soon:

Windows Essential Business Server supports up to 30 System Center Essentials 2007 (SCE) Server Management Licenses (SMLs), the maximum number of SCE SMLs permitted by the SCE software. SCE SMLs are included with the purchase of Windows Essential Business Server (EBS):

· 12 SCE SMLs with EBS Standard Edition
· 15 SCE SMLs with EBS Premium Edition

A SCE SML is not required for the operating system environment hosting SCE. Additional SCE SMLs may be purchased for managing additional operating system environments in the EBS-connected network without exceeding maximum of 30 SMLs.

solid platforms from which to run a small to midsize business

TechEd Reflections: Microsoft, SMB, and success
By Curtis Franklin
InfoWorld

"I've been working on Microsoft's new Small Business Server and Essential Business Server, and the folks in Redmond have done some very good things for the SMB market in areas ranging from management interface to licensing. (Yeah, I know –- sanity in licensing. Who would have thought?) A full Test Center review of each is coming, but my impressions haven't really changed dramatically since the first time I saw them –- these are solid platforms from which to run a small to midsize business."
